Quick Simply SUFI Nugget pie
Pies do not have to be sweet. Savory pies are awesome too. Let’s make a quick tasty pie with Simply SUFI chicken nuggets. Serve it for lunch on a lazy Sunday.

Ingredients
- 1 packet Simply SUFI Chicken Nuggets, prepared as directed
- 500 gm puff pastry
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 onion, cut into 4 pieces
- 1 cup milk
- 1 ½ cup chicken stock
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped green coriander
- 1 potato, diced and boiled
- 1 carrot, diced and par boiled
- ½ cup peas
- 2 tbsp milk
Method
Heat milk in a saucepan with bayleaf and onion. Bring to a boil. Set aside for almost 1 hour.
Make white sauce by heating butter in a pan. Add flour and whisk until flour is cooked and a paste is formed. Add milk, whisking vigorously. Add chicken stick, whisking vigorously. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let cook. When the sauce thickens (coats the back of the spoon), add salt and pepper. Add milk or chicken stock if sauce is too thick. Let sauce cook for a while if too thin. Set aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 200C/450F
Combine the Simply SUFI Chicken Nuggets, green coriander, potato and carrots in a bowl. Add enough white sauce to thoroughly coat the ingredients. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Divide the puff pastry into two. Roll out one piece and place in a pie plate. Pour the nugget mixture over the puff pastry. Roll out the remaining puff pastry and place over the nugget mixture. Seal the sides of the pie. Make a few cuts on top of the pie to allow steam to escape while baking.
Brush the top of pie with milk. Bake for 30 – 40 minutes, or until puff pastry is cooked and golden. Serve hot.
